Employee Benefit Plan Assurance practice leader, Eric Ernest, CPA, is slated to present at the Greater Washington CPA Society’s (GWSCPA) 6th Annual Employee Benefit Plan Conference on May 9.

Eric is joined by Adam Meehan, Partner representing the law firm of Smith & Downey. Their topic “10 Common Issues in Managing Retirement Plan and Fiduciary Risk – Best Practices Prescribed by ERISA Counsel and Plan Auditors”, discusses key areas concerning employee benefit plan assurance including fiduciary responsibilities, governance, and plan design.

“Being invited to speak at this year’s annual conference is an honor”, said Partner Eric Ernest, CPA. “The current landscape for employee benefit plan compliance is changing, and I see it as a privilege to provide clarity and insight to plan sponsors and those charged with governance.”

The presentation is intended to create awareness of fiduciary risk amongst plan management and those charged with governance. In addition to covering the most common issues noted by law and audit practitioners related to plan management and fiduciary risk; Eric and Adam will provide practical solutions and best practices for audit practitioners in identifying and assessing audit risk related to plan governance and management.
