By last count, our people speak more than 15 different languages. Founded more than thirty years ago, McConnell Jones has since grown to one of the largest regional CPA firms in the southwest and the second largest African American owned firm in the US. In addition to technical training, the firm conducts all-firm and small group discussions on topics related to our values of Creativity, Inclusion, Transparency and Accountability. These are deep, meaningful, and often quite personal discussions about work, life and family—and optional if anyone is uncomfortable with such discussions. The first book in the series was Deepak Chopra’s The Soul of Leadership, which we studied over four sessions. We believe that our values are not something we merely display on the walls of our office, but in the way we treat each other, our clients and our communities every day.
