Houston, Texas – McConnell Jones, a leading assurance, tax, and consulting professional services firm is excited to announce that it has been recertified as a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) on behalf of the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) and the Houston Minority Supplier Development Council (HMSDC).
An MBE is an organization that is at minimum 51% owned, managed, and controlled by members of qualified minority groups. The certification program helps to uplift MBEs by expanding visibility and access to business and government contracts that aim to seek diverse suppliers. This allows diverse-owned businesses to have enhanced business opportunities that contribute to supplier diversity initiatives.
McConnell Jones is committed to providing high-quality professional services to its clients. By maintaining certification and their relationship with the NMSDC, the firm is better positioned to serve a broader range of clients. As a diverse-owned firm with nearly two-thirds of its workforce being those of ethnically diverse backgrounds, this not only validates a commitment to fostering an inclusive environment, but also amplifies the firm’s mission of bringing together unique perspectives to enhance client solutions.
“We are excited to be maintaining our standing as an MBE and continuing our partnership with the NMSDC,” said Wayne McConnell, Managing Partner of McConnell Jones. “We look forward to serving the new clients we will be able to reach with this distinction with the same level of excellence we are known to provide.”
“I am also excited to be attending the 2024 NMSDC Annual Conference & Exchange in Atlanta with Odysseus Lanier, partner-in-charge of McConnell Jones’ Management Advisory and Consulting practice,” Mr. McConnell added. “As regular attendees of the conference, we are not only delighted to deepen our relationship with the NMSDC, but to also have another invaluable opportunity to connect with other MBEs and corporations from around the nation.”
