More than 20 auditors from McConnell & Jones’ Employee Benefit Plan Audit and Assurance team will attend the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) Employee Benefit Plan Conference. The annual event, which covers accounting, auditing and regulatory updates affecting employee benefit plans, will be held May 15 – 17 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
MJ’s team of employee benefit plan auditors, who dedicate 100 percent of their time to this unique discipline, will attend virtual and in-class presentations detailing cybersecurity and employee benefit plans, plan governance and fiduciary responsibilities and regulatory updates affecting defined contribution, pension, and health and welfare plans.
“As attendees of this conference, our team gains invaluable knowledge and relevant information that we share with our clients,” said ERISA compliance and assurance partner, Eric Ernest, CPA. “Our attendance underscores our dedication to helping our clients succeed and to educate them on the current changes within employee benefit plans.”
Additionally, Director Michelle Brumfield, CPA and Senior Manager Sharjeel Ahsan, CPA have each been selected to moderate a combined total of four sessions. Both Brumfield and Ahsan have moderated sessions at previous conferences, including last year’s conference in Nashville, Tennessee.
“I am excited to see what this conference has to offer, especially the Emerging EBP Professionals workshop,” said Tony Mathew, Audit Senior. “This will be my first year attending the event and believe this will help me further develop the essential professional skills, common to most aspects of employee benefit plans, that are needed to better serve our clients.”
