McConnell & Jones LLP (MJ) is proud to announce Marlon Williams, CPA as leader of the firm’s Nonprofit and Governmental Audit Practice and Partner in Charge of its Dallas office. In this role, Williams will promote and direct MJ’s strategic initiatives related to the practice growth across the firm’s various niches in the North Texas market such as governmental entities, nonprofit organizations, privately owned and publicly-held companies, as well as employee benefit plans. He will also have responsibility for all management and administrative matters related to oversight of the Dallas office.

With close to two decades of experience providing assurance services, Williams brings a wealth of specialized industry knowledge and has served as the partner responsible for the audit engagements for various cities, regional governments, public school districts, public water districts, and non-profit entities. He has also worked in the private sector with manufacturing, distribution, oil field services, energy and software/technology companies. Additionally, Williams’ background includes leading the analytics department for a national CPA firm where he focused on developing analytics that processed “big data” as to assist clients in the decision making process and enhance the overall audit process.

Williams, a graduate Abilene Christian University, is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, the Texas Society of CPAs, the Government Finance Officers Association of Texas, and is a Certified Data Analyst. He is published extensively, and presented topics at several industry specific conferences, including the Institute of Internal Auditors Conference and the Texas Association of School Board Officials.
