John Zimmerman, an expert in federal financial management advisory services, has joined the firm’s Washington DC office as director of assurance and advisory services. In his new role, Zimmerman will manage the firm’s federal assurance and advisory services group while also promoting strategic initiatives related to practice growth in the Washington DC market which includes federal, state, and local governmental entities, nonprofit organizations, privately owned and publicly-held companies, as well as employee benefit plans.
With more than 20 years of advisory experience, Zimmerman’s background includes leading teams in the execution of federal financial management engagements to design, implement, and maintain Office of Management and Budget (OMB) A-123 compliance programs as well as delivering financial transformation and Business Process Re-engineering (BPR), financial reporting, and financial operations services. His clients have included the Departments of Defense, Justice, Energy, Treasury, Transportation, and Housing and Ubran Development (HUD) as well as the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and the General Services Administration (GSA).

John is a graduate of James Madison University where he earned both Bachelors and Masters Degrees in accounting. He is a Certified Public Accountant and an active member of the Association of Governmental Accountants as well as the Association of Federal Enterprise Risk Management.
