McConnell & Jones LLP (MJ) has promoted Mark A. Schwartz to Partner in the firm’s Federal Assurance and Advisory Practice.
Having joined our firm in 2016, Schwartz’s background includes specialized experience performing financial audit, advisory and compliance services and he is considered a subject matter expert in federal audit, internal controls, and financial reporting. Additionally, he has extensive experience in executing audits for federal agencies under the Chief Financial Officers’ Act (CFO Act) and his qualifications include engagements with the Departments of Agriculture, Army, Health and Human Services, Homeland Security, Justice, Navy and Veterans Affairs, as well as the Appalachian Regional Commission, Federal Housing Finance Agency, Federal Labor Relations Authority, Federal Trade Commission, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Trade and Development Agency.

Schwartz is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia. In addition to bachelor degrees from Indiana University, as well as the University of Maryland, he holds a Certified Defense Financial Manager credential from the American Society of Military Comptrollers, and is an active member of the Association of Government Accountants, the American Society of Military Comptrollers, and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
