McConnell & Jones LLP (MJ) is proud to announce the recent selection of employee benefit audit director, Michelle Brumfield, CPA, to present at the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) Employee Benefit Plans Conference in Nashville, TN this May.
Brumfield is slated to present two sessions at the upcoming conference. The first session, “Limited Scope Audits”, will discuss the auditor’s responsibility and disclosure requirements when performing a limited scope benefit plan audit. Her second session, “Reviewing a Form 5500 from an Auditors’ Perspective”, will cover the basics of reviewing the Form 5500 from an auditors’ perspective to facilitate the auditors’ overall understanding and enhance the audit process.
“With her significant experience and expertise, Michelle is an excellent choice to present on these topics,” said ERISA compliance and assurance partner, Eric Ernest, CPA. “We’re incredibly proud to have her representing McConnell & Jones at this year’s employee benefit plan conference.”
Brumfield is a current member of the AICPA and previously served as a moderator for four different sessions at last year’s conference. She is also a member of the AICPA Woman’s Initiative Executive Committee’s Champion Task Force. Outside of her involvement in the AICPA, Brumfield is also president of the Filipino-American Accountants of Texas.
