McConnell & Jones’ consulting manager, Jose Reyes, has successfully completed the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) exam and completed all requirements for the CISA certification from ISACA, formerly the Information Systems Audit and Control Association. Reyes’ newly awarded certification further expands MJ’s growing information technology (IT) audit and advisory sector capabilities and offers a more specialized service to clients.
The CISA certification is globally recognized as the standard of achievement for individuals who evaluate an organization’s IT and enterprise systems. In order to become CISA-certified, an individual must have at least five years of IT audit experience and must take and pass the CISA exam.
“We are very excited for Jose’s CISA certification,” said Risk Advisory and Consulting Partner, Odysseus Lanier, CPA. “Obtaining certifications in the IT audit industry broaden our understanding of the challenges facing business and directly impact MJ’s ability to provide custom solutions to our clients.”
Our team’s professional development in this growing specialty, including Reyes’ achievement of the CISA designation, is a testament of MJ’s commitment to further build a knowledge base and better service clients. Coupled with the key hire in early 2017 of Evan Jones, Senior IT Analyst, MJ is concentrated on the strategic decision to build expertise in this specialized service.
“Technology affects the daily operation of any businesses operation,” said Managing Partner Wayne McConnell, CPA. “Our focus at MJ is to provide tangible solutions as the risks associated with technology and operational systems increase. We are determined to help our clients mitigate their risk in the face of cybersecurity challenges and look forward to helping them better use technology to achieve their organizational goals and financial compliance.”
