McConnell & Jones LLP is proud to announce the recent appointment of Michelle Brumfield to the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) Woman’s Initiative Executive Committee’s Champions Task Force. As a member of the committee’s Champions Task Force, Brumfield will advocate for women in public accounting; focusing on attracting more women into the profession as well as how to empower women to be leaders.
Brumfield is committed to working with the AICPA and the Woman’s Initiative Executive Committee to support the progress of women within the accounting profession. A specialist in employee benefit plan accounting, auditing, legislative, and regulatory issues, Brumfield has been an active member of the AICPA for nine years and is scheduled to moderate four sessions at the upcoming AICPA Employee Benefit Plan Conference this May.
“Michelle is a great example to women in our profession,” said ERISA Partner, Eric Ernest. “Not only is she highly skilled and successful in her practice area, but she is always available to mentor and guide our associates. The AICPA will benefit from her participation in the Champions Task Force.”
Brumfield has been with the firm more than 15 years and in addition to her roles within the AICPA, she is a member of the Greater Houston Partnership’s Woman’s Business Alliance as well the Greater Houston Woman’s Chamber of Commerce.
