McConnell & Jones is excited to announce that Partner, Odysseus Lanier, was recently elected to the Board of Directors of Parkview Capital Credit, Inc. as an independent director, where he will serve on the company’s audit committee.
Parkview Capital Credit is a closed-end investment fund regulated under the Investment Company Act of 1940, Securities Act of 1933 and Securities Exchange Act of 1934, that provides alternative sources of capital for lower and middle-market companies.
Lanier joins the board with a strong risk advisory, compliance and business process improvement background which includes enterprise risk assessments, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Section 404 compliance for internal controls over financial reporting, internal audit co-sourcing and outsourcing, and streamlining business processes to reduce costs and improve profitability in publicly-traded and privately-held organizations.
“Odysseus is a proven practice leader with much to offer the Board of Directors for Parkview Capital Credit,” said Managing Partner, Wayne McConnell. “As practice leader for our firm’s internal audit team, he has the viewpoint that only three decades of experience in compliance and risk advisory can offer.”
Additionally, Lanier provides a unique perspective in board governance, having used best practices in governance and leadership through two gubernatorial appointments to public universities in Texas and Alabama. He served on the Texas Southern University Board of Regents from 1989-1995, where he chaired the Finance Committee from 1989-1993, and recently served on the Alabama A&M University Board of Trustees from 2009-2014, where he was chairman of the Business and Finance Committee from 2009-2010 and chairman of the board from 2010-2014.
