McConnell & Jones LLP is proud to announce the selection of Partner, Thomas Jones, as part of the transition team for the newly elected Harris County sheriff, Ed Gonzalez. Jones will be a member of the transition team’s finance and procurement committee starting this January and will develop recommendations for financial reform and efficiencies within the Harris County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO).

As the leader of the tax and small business solutions practice at one of the largest CPA firms in the Houston, Jones has close to 40 years of experience in tax and business operations. Throughout his professional career, he has actively served in the Houston community and is dedicated to numerous civic responsibilities. He has previously served on the transition team for City of Houston Controller, Ron Green, and worked on the Term Limits Reform Committee under former City of Houston Mayor, Bill White. Additionally, he is the board chairman of the Florida A&M University Foundation, past chairman of the board of the Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau, and an active member of the Across the Track PAC.
