Wayne McConnell Appointed to the Community Impact Committee for the United Way of the Gulf Coast
McConnell Jones’ Managing Partner, Wayne McConnell, has been appointed to the Community Impact Committee for the United Way of the Gulf Coast. For nearly 100 years, United Way of Greater Houston has brought together diverse partners and approaches to get to the root of complex challenges holding people back.
United Way of Greater Houston creates opportunities for people in our community to thrive by:
- Creating a pathway to self-sufficiency and success by providing tools, resources, and educational support to help hardworking individuals and families obtain financial stability and quality of life
- Helping young people achieve academic success through quality out-of-school programs, including early childhood education, before and after school programs and school break programming
- Providing safety net programs that help people take care of their basic and immediate needs, like food, shelter, clothing, and transportation
Wayne McConnell’s role on The Community Impact Committee is providing oversight to the distribution of resources made to programs and initiatives, assessing community needs, promoting the collaborative and convening role of United Way and ensuring measurable outcomes are obtained to clearly report investment impact on the community.
When asked about what acts of community service mean to him, Wayne McConnell said “I am mindful of the support provided to me and my family and McConnell Jones by the Houston community. It is with great joy that I get to return the favor.”
Supporting the United Way of Greater Houston is an integral part of McConnell Jones’ #mjcommunity initiative to promote endeavors that enrich the communities in which we live.
